About the Imagination Value Score
The Imagination Value Score measures the gap between a company's market value and what traditional financial metrics would predict. Companies like Amazon (+292%) and Tesla (+350%) command massive premiums because they sell compelling visions of the future, not just products.
We analyze four dimensions:
- Desirability — How compelling is the future they represent?
- Inhabitability — Can people mentally “live in” this future?
- Open-endedness — Does it invite participation and co-creation?
- Shareability — Is the vision easy to communicate?
Score = ((D × I × O × S) / 50⁴ - 1) × 100
Where 50⁴ (6.25M) is the baseline. Scores averaging 50 = 0%, above 50 = positive value.
